Steve Martin and Edie Brickell's new musical BRIGHT STAR won the Outer Critics Circle Awards for Best Musical and Best Score and the Drama Desk Award for Best Music; and its original Broadway cast recording was nominated for the 2017 Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album.

Now, to usher in the Holiday Season, this heartrending tribute to the enduring strength of family bonds and the unyielding resilience of the human spirit will have its Bay Area premiere at the Curran. Inspired by a real event, this “downright wonderful” (Newsday) original musical tells a sweeping tale of love and redemption set against the rich backdrop of the American South in the 1920s and ‘40s. Tickets are on sale now!

The Curran invites students, parents, educators, musicians and community collaborators to enjoy a free evening of music, storytelling and surprises celebrating Steve Martin and Edie Brickell’s new musical, BRIGHT STAR.
